Good morning, Diamond Pros!
I saved your email from over a year ago when my boyfriend and I were researching the right ring and purchase options for us. We’re now ready to buy, and since we had such a great initial experience with you, we’re hoping you’re still available to help us select the perfect ring!
Oval diamond (ideally 2+ carats, SI1 or better, I or better, and cut. Ideally with no bow tie effect). It would be set in rose gold with a micropavé rose gold wedding band. Budget ~$18,000.
It’s so nice to hear from you again! Let’s continue the search.
For a rose gold pave setting, I’d be a bit hesitant to go with an I color. I’d rather go at least one grade up to ensure the colorless impression.
I found the following options:

They have fantastic overall specs and all of them would look amazing in the setting you have in mind.
I liked the look of the Blue Nile option the most, and thanks for the advice on the right color given the rose gold setting. I really like the rose gold prongs instead as well, but would that affect the color even moreso, or will H color still appear colorless?
Also, is there anything that still looks eye-clean and colorless closer to a 2.5ct mark under $20k?
…
A quick note, we like this one and don’t mind going a bit over budget, but aren’t sure how to appropriately assess its value. Your advice so appreciated!

H color would look colorless regardless of the color of the prongs so decide what you prefer.
The diamond you sent me: Blue Nile LD13023366 has strong fluorescence which is a big problem on an H color. The stone will most likely be hazy in daylight. You could of course give it a try and check it out in person, but I doubt that the haziness wouldn’t be there.
I went through the inventories again, but unfortunately, the diamonds I sent you in my previous email are currently the largest options I can recommend. What is your time frame for the purchase? Companies update their inventories daily so maybe we could wait up a bit and see if something better comes up next week or so.
That’s so good to know, I wasn’t aware the fluorescence contributed to that effect! I’m also glad the H color will still look colorless with rose gold prongs and setting since my heart is pretty set on that look.
Thank you again so much for the assistance, this is such an extraordinarily useful service!
It’s been a pleasure helping you!
