Dear all,
I am looking to buy an engagement ring, the budget would be around 2,000 Euro.
This ring will be a platinum solitaire. White gold is also a possibility but I think platinum would be better.
I’d like 0.5 carat, ideal cut, top tier color (F,E,D), ideal cut and clarity VS1 at least. I’d like a nice looking diamond, with no flaws visible to the naked eye at least.
I’m happy to find some options for you. May I ask what’s the reason behind the highest color grades? You could easily drop down to a G or H and it would look identical in a solitaire setting. https://www.diamonds.pro/education/color/
About the color grades, I have no particular reason, just thought it’s better. We can of course drop to G or H if we get a “better looking” diamond.
High color grades are a brilliant marketing strategy, but in reality, the difference in colors isn’t really recognizable from anything above an H grade, especially once the diamond is set. Our usual recommendation for solitaire settings is a J color and it still looks absolutely colorless. So I wouldn’t really go higher than an H, you wouldn’t be able to see the difference anyway.
I found these two absolutely perfect diamonds:
Blue Nile LD15158384
Blue Nile LD15114290
They are beautifully cut and would be very bright and brilliant in real life.
Thank you so much, those look really nice. The first one has a pretty good price but I am thinking of going with the second one for the better clarity.
…
Just wanted to inform you that I’ve just made the purchase!
I’m glad I could help.
