Hi!
My friend just told me about your work and it is amazing. Im looking for an engagement ring with the next characteristics:
Color H-I
Clarity VS2 – SI1
Carat weight 1.0-1.05
GIA
Round shape
My budget is about $4,200 USD.
What style setting (solitaire, pave/side stones/halo) and metal (yellow/white gold, platinum) do you want to use? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the center diamond (as we explain in our post on color).
I’m looking for a solitaire ring in white gold.
I found the following diamond options:
The largest eye-clean and well cut diamonds in the <$4,200 range:

The cheapest 1ct diamond: www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/1.01-carat-i-color-si1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-6625183?a_aid=dmnd1357
They have a nice cut and are eye-clean. I color is going to look absolutely colorless in a solitaire setting. I always search for SI+, but sometimes it happens that the best-priced eye-clean diamond has a VS or VVS grade.

I love both diamonds, I see that the main difference between them is the carat (0.9 to 1.01) and the clarity (VS2 to SI1). I prefer the one with 1.01 carat because I’m looking for a bigger size of the diamond but I don’t know if it would look colorless, what do you think?
The 1ct is slightly bigger, but not by much. Check out the real measurements. I color looks absolutely colorless in a solitaire setting of any kind. I wouldn’t recommend a diamond that would look yellowish when it shouldn’t.
I really like them both, which diamond you think is better? After all the 1.01ct diamond is slightly bigger than 0.90.
The diamonds are both excellent choices, they differ only in size and price. So it’s up to you and your preference. Either of them would look great in person.
Okay, I think I will go for the diamond of 1.01ct.
It’s a beautiful stone, I’m sure you will be very happy with it.
